Today's theme is the Close to My Heart Sarita Paper Pack which is one of my favorites!  I love the bright vibrant colors and I think that this paper packet is one of the more versatile packets.  

I created two cards using Sarita.  

The first card I created is Christmas Card in preparation for our Christmas Card Making Day which is going to be a blast.  If you are in Southern PA, you are more than welcome to join us for this fun event.  Feel free to contact me or check out the Facebook link above.

All paper (pattern and solid) is from the Sarita Paper packet.  The stamp sets are Cityscape and Holiday Tags.  Specifically the Holiday Tags stamp set is extremely versatile and shapes for the tags can be cut out of the Exclusive CTMH Artiste Cartridge.  Of course, I used Silver Shimmer Trim, but I cut it in half for a thinner look.  

The next card I created using the Sarita Textiles.  At first I thought it was so strange and annoying to use fabric on a card or scrapbooking project.  But I decided to try it on this card and I love the look.  The fabric adds so much texture and dimension.  To adhere the fabric, I used Liquid Glass which is a very good adhesive.  I have also seen many other uses with textiles to make flowers and other 3-D items for a papercrafting project.  

I also used the Hippo & Sentiment from Wild Wonders, which is a set that I can't get enough of!  The Colors I used were Lagoon & Sunset.

Welcome to Creatively Redeeming Treasures Close to My Heart Blog Hop for August!

This month we are doing a hop around the Babycakes Paper Pack which is an extremely versatile paper pack (does not just have to be used for babies).

I do have a one year old, and she is always wanting to play with magnets on the fridge.  So, I created some magnets that she could use as toys.  You can see that I made a collage with some of the pictures from our fridge:

I used the Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge as well as the Cricut Artiste Cartridge  to cut out the Babycakes Paper shapes, and then I used the Wild Wonders Stamp Set  to create the animals.  You can see that behind the animals are patterns.  These patterns are from the Geometric Backgrounds and Distressed Backgrounds stamp sets from Close to My Heart.  All the paper, both solid & pattern was taken from the Babycakes Paper Packet.  Magnets were bought at Walmart in a pack and 6 white card stock sheets made the base of the magnet.  Pieces were glued together and then coated in Mod Podge to get a glossy and splash proof finish (so they could stay on the fridge).

One thing that I would do differently is that I would ink all the edges of the base white sheets of paper so that the sides of the magnet are colored the matching color to the magnet.  I didn't realize this until after I was finished, but I think I would do it that way if I did it again.  If you let the glued pieces dry for a full 24 hours, the piece comes out to be a pretty solid chip board looking piece.  Pretty awesome!  This could also work for Alphabets for your kids or refrigerator name plates.

I am so excited to have a new Idea Book coming out from Close To My Heart on August 1, 2013.  However, all good things must come to an end, and there are a bunch of spectacular stamps that are retiring come July 31st!  I made two cards for today, both featuring the Dream Big Stamp Set and a few other stamp sets that are going to retire:

This card is a cute children's birthday card made only with white card stock.   The frogs, bursts, and sentiment are all from the Dream Big Stamp Set.  The cake has been cut down from the Chantilly Cardmaking Kit.  Colors used were Pear, Sunset, & Sunny Yellow.

This card is really simple and an easy formula from which to make many different cards.  What I love about the Dream Big Stamp Set, is that the shapes coordinate with the Perfect Fit Frames and the CTMH 1 1/4 inch circle punch.  The Lady Bug & Flourish are from Dream Big Stamp Set and the flower shape is from Circle Together Stamp Set.  This is another great set that coordinates well with the punch.  Also, notice that I used the brand new Bronze Shimmer Trim which I LOVE!

This month's theme was using the Honey Comb Stamp Set from Close To My Heart. This is one of my favorite stamp sets and I had a blast creating with it! Here are two cards that I made using this stamp set.

The first card I made, I used the hexagons to create a six petal flower.

I used all white paper in this card. I used CTMH Autumn Terracotta, Honey, Topiary, & Pacifica Ink. The sentiment is from the Casual Expressions Stamp Set and the leaves are from the Just For You Stamp Set by Close To My Heart.

I created the petals on the flower by stamping the hexagon design three times, cutting them out, and then folding each one in half and attaching them together. See close up picture below:

The next card that I did is really simple. I used the hexagons like mosaic tiles to create a design.

Again, I used CTMH Autumn Terracotta, Topiary, & Pacifica Ink. I used the Honey Marker to color in the Bee which is from the Bugs & Hugs Stamp Set by Close To My Heart. The paper I used is Honey, and it is stamped in Cashmere Ink with the texture stamp from Distressed Backgrounds Stamp Set, one of my favorites! The sentiment and the hexagon tiles are from the Honeycomb Stamp Set.

Hello Everyone,

I am really excited for my card class this Saturday June 8th!  Anyone is welcome to attend.  The cost is only $5 for 6 cards.  We are meeting at my workplace at 2126 Columbia Avenue in Lancaster any time from 10am to 4pm.  Here are a few samples of cards that we are going to make:
